Early in spring we have Valentine’s Day and Pancake Day (Shrove Tuesday), which liven up the tail-end of winter.

After that there’s Mother’s Day and Easter in spring, then a break through the summer until we come round to Halloween and Thanksgiving, ending up with Christmas which brightens the darker days of the year.

All these occasions are times when friends and family come together for celebration meals.
