Frozen food is as healthy as fresh food

by Elizabeth
(Healthy Eating Made Easy)

New research shows that frozen food can be just as good for you as fresh - sometimes better.

Nutrients in fresh food often deteriorate because fresh veg can be spend days, if not longer, on the road or in the air, being transported to shops and stores. During this time, vitamin content goes down and the vegetables become less nutritious.

Frozen vegetables are frozen very soon after picking, so all the nutrients are preserved, and are still there when the food is cooked and eaten.

Keeping a few packs of frozen veg and fruit in your freezer is a great way to make sure that you always have a supply of fresh produce, and can get that all-important five portions of fruit and veg a day all the more easily.
