What's a quick way to lose that Christmas weight?

by Elizabeth
(Healthy Eating Made Easy)

I don't generally advocate fast weight loss, because it's better to tackle a weight problem slowly. But if you know you've piled on 2-3 lb over the holidays and just want to shed that weight again, try these steps for the next 7-10 days:

- drink only water, herbal teas or lemon in hot water - no soft drinks, sodas or alcohol
- cut out all junk food
- have plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and salads
- eat small portions of lean protein with your main meals
- don't fry food or add extra fat to your food
- reduce the size of your portions
- take extra exercise every day

If your weight gain is just down to over-indulgence over the last week, then this strategy should be enough to help peel off those pounds. If you have a longer term weight gain to tackle, check out how to eat healthy and lose weight.
