Is it true you can mistake hunger for thirst?

by Natalie
(UK)

I think I have a fairly healthy diet - chicken, meat, fruit, vegetables and the odd chocolate bar. I think eating in moderation is totally OK. But I always seem to get hunger pangs. I've heard this can be mistaken for thirst - Is this true?

Answer: Yes, that is correct. Make sure you stay well-hydrated, and drink around 2 litres of water day. The hunger pangs you experience may also be affected by how regularly you eat. Having several smaller meals and snacks spread through the day, rather than one big meal in the evening, helps to keep your blood sugar stable, and keep hunger pangs at bay.
