Healthy Recipes Kids Love - Great Healthy Meals for Kids
Do you have a hard time finding healthy recipes kids enjoy, or perhaps getting your kids to eat a healthy diet? Healthy eating is so important for the whole family that it is worth the extra effort to change habits and turn to a healthier lifestyle. Here are a few ideas and easy kids' recipes to get you started in the right direction.
Tips for getting kids to eat healthy
Be a role model- Being a good example and consistently trying new foods with the family is a great way to get kids involved in learning about and finding new favorites.
Meal plan and cook together - Getting your kids involved in planning what's for dinner and helping cook allows them to have a hands-on experience in the kitchen. They are also more apt to eat something they helped create.
Keep healthy snacks available. Have ready-to-eat healthy choices in the fridge and the cupboard such as a fruit bowl filled with a variety of fruit and chopped vegetables fresh in the fridge. Don't forget to clean out the fridge and use up those cut vegetables each week as well as change the snacking options each week.
Kids' Healthy RecipesToasted Cauliflower 1 head of cauliflower 1 Cup seasoned bread crumbs 3 Tablespoons olive oil 2 garlic cloves, minced fine
Wash and have an adult cut cauliflower into bite size florets. Place cauliflower in large bowl. Add 2 Tablespoons olive oil and toss to cover well. Lay the pieces on a cookie sheet in a single layer (save the bowl to use later). Preheat oven to 400F/200C/gas 6. Place cookie sheet in oven and roast the cauliflower for 15 minutes.
Place the bread crumbs into the bowl that contained the olive oil. If there is not enough oil to coat the crumbs add 1 Tablespoon. Add the garlic and toss. Have an adult remove the cauliflower from the oven and turn each piece. The cauliflower should be turning a light brown. Sprinkle the bread crumb mixture over the top of the cauliflower. Return to the oven and continue roasting another 10 minutes. The bread crumbs will be slightly toasted and the cauliflower tender when done. Remove and serve immediately.
