I need to know how to eat healthier because I'm in my 40s and am now struggling to maintain my weight. The weight is settling on my midsection.

Next year I want to cook much more from scratch - simple things, but healthy.
We rely so much on ready-made stuff because it's quick but we'd save money if we cooked, and it would be better for us.
So what I want for 2011 is some great ideas of healthy dinners I can cook.

Once you start cooking your own fresh foods from scratch I think you'll find that you enjoy your meals much more. Homemade food is tastier and you can adjust seasonings, use herbs and spices and give food your own twist to make it just the way you and your family like it.

My new years resolution is to continue to eat healthy and and keep my current weight.
I struggled a little bit over the holidays, but who doesn't? Right!
Make small healthy choices everyday and it will add up over time!
Answer Patrick, that's a very good resolution, especially as you are at a healthy weight already.
Most people do some unhealthy eating over the holidays, but if you get back into healthier eating habits now, that excess weight will soon drop off.
Keep making those healthy choices, and soon they'll become second nature.

I know the theory of eating healthy foods but putting it into practice is the hard part. I want to feel better!
Answer Donna, the best way to get a healthier diet is to do it bit by bit. First of all switch to a healthier breakfast. Establish that habit, find a healthy breakfast that you love...then move on to your morning snack. What could you have that is healthier but still fun to eat?
Carry on in the same way, allowing each change to become established. There are lots of hints and tips on this site to help you. Good luck with your resolution for 2011!
